HONDA ACCORD 2.4 MT/AT

It’s your first car if you make it big in business or investment banking. The Accord makes a statement and the last generation helped do just that. The new one carries forward that legacy, albeit in a shell that’s larger and slightly less radical. The new Accord is available with the same 2354cc i-VTEC engine, but in a higher state of tune than before, while the 3000cc V6 has been discontinued. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and an auto, once again with paddle shifts. Performance numbers don’t reveal a leap forward as the car has gotten heavier. Fuel economy has taken a bit of a southward dip, but you do get more toys to play with- such as parking sensors for the front and rear bumpers. It’s comfortable as usual, so expect you to get thoroughly pampered. The large size however has robbed some of the dynamic finesse its predecessor possessed. Nevertheless, the Accord does make for a compelling buy in a segment devoid of any spectacular performers.
